Comment:

Got a computer second hand the other day. Nothing on it except the O/S and a few others (norton, adobe, etc.). I added a network card, and now when windows boots up, it asks for the admin password. I tried hitting "enter", putting in "administrator", etc, but to no avail.
All I really wanted to do was get the updates and use it for a basic Internet machine, but I can't get in. I have no discs with it, no recovery CD, nada. I do have the original Windows product key sticker, but that's about it. Any ideas how to work around it, or should I just reformat and InstallXP and be done with it?
Thanks.

You'd be better off reformatting and installing xP.
