I don't know what i have done to get this error when i try to open Add/remove Programs in W2k

Hmmm, that sounds like something you installed on your machine, messed with your system registry. Try using the Win2k bootup options to possible restore to last working config (this will take you back to what it was like when you just installed Win2k) and if you still have problems, back your files up and use you repair feature on your Win2k installation CD.
