Hi, my new machine has a 60gb HD Drive with XP home version on it. I would like to add another Hard Disk Drive on my new machine with W2k OS which is currently on my old Dell Pc. How can I achieve this. Please Help me with a detailed message. Thanks

With W2k and XP, you will most likely get the Blue Screen Of Death when you move a system hard drive to another machine. You may be able to do a repair install, but it may be just as easy to format the drive and do a reinstall.

Remember - on 'both' drives the OS will be on C: .
You add the Dell drive (W2K) to the XP system and the OS (installed as C: ) will now become D: ..., and this will impact on all path statements for the Dell drive.
Even running XP setup/recovery routine (to detect the Dell W2K installation) will not fully resolve this drive letter change...
There are lengthy ways to get around this one... but probably the easier route - on this occasion - is to use an add-in boot manager util; e.g PM8x or System Commander? (I tend to avoid these utils - but there are times when they do offer quick 'n easy/simple solutions...; and this may be one them them?)
You would install it via XP; it would allow you to choose which drive to boot to.
Whichever you use - Read the Manual First; they all have their respective foibles/perculiarities
You would install the Dell drive as Slave to XP Master; although depending on what other units you have installed in the XP PC, there may be other/better options re' where to put this drive. What do you have installed in the XP PC in terms of CDROM/DVD and/or CDRW drives?
