I have 2 computers running win 2000 pro and I can no longer add a new user to both mach.I had a profile become corrupted on computer #2 Yes I did try to add a new user
as an administrator. When I try to log on with new user It
just says could not load profile access denied, Please
help, I can't do much on this computer because it is
loading a temp profile and no setting are saved. Have to
reinstall printer every time too. If I reinstall win 2000,
will this help??
I have done a repair and now when I log on a new user I get
"Windows cannot copy file c:\documents and
settings\default user.winnt\application data\to location
C:\Documents on settings\user name\application data\
Contact your administrator." So I tried adding a new user
on Computer #1 and "windows cannot load prfile. Contact
your administrator." Is this something to do with the
service patchs??? I can't keep useing a temp profile
can't get to the cantact lists and e-mail HELP
.

Have you screwed with the permissions on the C drive? Sounds like the user you created doesn't have access to the path you specified.

NO havn't touch the permissions. This all started when a local user profile became corrupt and I tried to make a new user and I got the "Windows cannot copy file c:\documents and settings\default user.winnt\application data\to location
C:\Documents on settings\user name\application data\
Contact your administrator." I checked and I don't evne see a dir c:\documents and settings\"default". I tried a repair already, do you think a reinstall of the Os will help, hope I don't have to reformat!!!!

The folder you are looking for is by default hidden in Windows 2000. Go to Windows Explorer and under Tools~Folders Options~View select show hidden files and click Apply. Navigate to the c:\documents and settings\ directory and you should see the "default" subdirectory now listed.
Good Luck,
Zonian
