I have a Supermicro P6DGU motherboard with an Adaptec AIC7890 SCSI card on-board. This SCSI card card is supposed to be equivalent to the AHA-2940-U2W for which Adaptec say there are drivers bundled in to Win2000, but they fail to recognise my card, resulting in an "Inaccessible boot device" error. I have the latest BIOS patch from Supermicro installed (DGU9161) but it does not help.
Adaptec say that they do not support on-baord cards, and Supermicro say that it is effectively an AHA-2940-U2W. So I am unable to get help from either site.

Could you be more specific next time, does the error occur during installation, during boot-time after installation or at any oth time? I assume this is an installation error. (1) Load the w2k drivers on a seperate disk and load them during installation. (2) The on-board scsi usually shares PCI-ressources with the first PCI-Slot of the mb, so be sure not to fill that one or assign it any ressources manually.
