Does anyone know of any FREE adware removal programs other than Ad-Aware. They all advertise as being free but their not. It is very aggravating to go through the process of downloading and scanning, only to find that in order to remove what has been discovered, you must purchase the program.
I am not interested in a program that scans for free but charges to remove.

The best ones other than Adaware are Spybot and Spywareblaster(active x protection only) available at http://wilders.org/ The Microsoft antispyware program ia also excellent. It works fine for 2000. It is free from their website. It is listed as a beta, but it works great.

There are several knockoff products produced to be similar to AdAware that are not free. Don't be duped...get the real one at the above link.

Actually, the best one if you are serious about spyware removal is SpySweeper from Webroot software. I've run that on systems after running AdAware and SpySweeper found several more problems.
You can download a free trial at www.webroot.com but it is not a free program. As with most things, you get what you pay for.
