i want to access a system thats on windows network thru dos. how do u i go about it

Win2K doesn't have DOS. Do you mean you want to map a drive using a Command Prompt? What OS is the remote system? Perhaps a little more detail..

From console you can use
c:\>net use j: \\server\disk
