4 dns servers

Comment:

Running 2 external dns servers and 2 internal dc/dns servers. I have no idea as to how it works. Can someone give me some idea as to how it functions briefly. External dns servers are running linux. Internal are win2k

I'd guess you have one primary in each zone and one secondary for redundancy. Chances are the internal are set to forward to the external in the case of queries outside their zone. The external likely forward to external (internet) DNS servers.
