Win2k by default installs 3 networking components. 1 is Internet Protocol (tcp/ip), 2 is File and Print sharing for Microsoft networks. Anyone know what the third one is.

I would venture to guess the third is "Client for Microsoft Networks"

Thanks Philly, you were right on. I was getting a wierd error id. MS knowledge base only refered to "file and print sharing for Novell networks". I had accidently deleted Client for MS networks. Reinstalled and the error stopped. Thanks for the help, give yourself a pat on the back.
