I currently buidling a computer. I have an ABIT KG7 board with amd xp1600. I successfully installed windows 2000 with my video card. I shut my computer down and was gonna install my sound card. I started it back up and then 2000 froze up. It sat their for like 3 minutes. So i power kill and tried restarting. After i tried restarting i get a blank screen with a lot of beeps. What can I do to get back to windows???????? or to fix this problem. THANKS!!

If you installed the Sound Card Remove that, remove video card, and reseat that, also wanna make sure you memory is fully in the slots (may need to pull those out and reseat those also). Those are couple of things I would look for first.

Two things.. if you're board has onboard sound be SURE to disable it in the bios before inserting a sound card. you'll get lockups everytime. the other HUGE reason for lockups are incorrect drivers. make sure all drivers are up to date and you should be fine.
