Comment:

my company is using an ERP application which runs on e ms sql database.

in the morning, e sqlservr.exe runs at 60,952K of memory. later in the day, when more people using the application, it shoots up to 210,952K. i been observing it for a few days and it always happens.

whenever this happen, the end users had been facing slow(real slow) processing of the transaction.

i was wondering what can be done to prevent it from hitting 100% CPU usage.
is there any hardware i can add in/increase>?

any advise?

thanks,
derrick

I had the same experience using SQL 2000 and Solomon IV from Great Plains.

You will need a dual processor machine and do not run any other network services on the machine.

Also, be sure to have as much RAM as you can afford. Preferably DDR. Large hard drives with lots of extra space so you can maximize your page file will help as well.

Good luck!
