I’d like to create a web site that allows people to ad their names with their availabilities for that month with a nominated price they would charge for their services.
But also these people will be graded to their abilities and classed as such so as I can put their names into different class categories. These people will then be placed into a pool as such and by way of the web site will be offered to the companies that would most likely use their services. I would be looking a collecting a minimal fee for my web site
And it would have to be password protected for these individuals and user friendly to them as well and to the companies that would use them. My Q I guess is: What is the best way to go about setting up such a site and what sort of money roughly would I be up for to set it up.

you have limited options in a way:

- search the net for a membership site script that enables you to do this, prices go from US$150 up

- you could learn PHP and do it yourself, the cost would be free but time consuming

- you could hire a professional programmer, i have heard that they charge US$100 per hour

- you could put your project up for a bid at sites where programmers outbid each other for your business ... someone posted a name for such a site in the last month (from memory) or else do a search on the net for such sites as there are quite a few

hope this helps
