Aha ! What's wrong with Google you say. I'd say quite a lot. Financially, they are raking in the money, but for me as a user, I am finding their services more and more useless. That is, unless I am shopping for something.
Does a search engine supply any information not related to shopping for something these days?
Google built it's reputation on being an amazing device for finding actual useful information. It would seem as the competition folded, it's interests and motivations were sharply narrowed.
At this point I would almost welcome back the days when it was almost impossible to put in any word without pulling up a reference to an XXX website or viagra, because along with that came the wondrous deluge of information that originally brought most people to the net.
Now, I can only say to Google, you are a waste of time, and the internet makes me want to, ah ah.... ZZZZzzzzzz ZZZZZzzzz.
Nighty Night!

And what's your question? I'm sorry but I don't see the problem. I guess with the large sums of money you pay for Google service each month you have a right to be pissed by a perceived drop in quality and...
Oh, wait a minute, you don't pay ANYTHING for Google's service - it is FREE! This is the typical attitude of too many people these days, thinking they have a right to something which they do not. IF you don't like Google don't use it. Use Yahoo, MSN or whatever you want.
If Google decided to only have search results for Transvestite dog grooming business, that is their choice. They don't owe YOU anything. They only have to answer to their clients (advertisers) and shareholders. Unless you own their stock or are a client of theirs you have no basis to complain. If you do belong in one of those two groups, complain to them - not on some forum.

Since you opened the door, what the heck happened with YOUR site www.ryanscustomcomputers.f2g.net? Hmmm.
You posted in these forums about that site and it is no longer available. I demand that you put up a quality site immediately, as that is what I am accustomed to. However, based upon the myriad of comments about your site I would guess you and quality are like oil and water.

MichaelJ, you're a funny guy. But I can't help but agree. No sense getting upset about the quality of a FREE service.
Personally, I'm finding that Wikipedia provides me with a wealth of information, if I have a specific topic to research. I still use Google for more general searches.
Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

Michael J i liked you demanding his website to provide useful quality stuff. gave me such a laugh.2-
i agree wikipedia is helpful,
but another point, this even makes google more helpful, since (not by chance) whenever i search for something , the first link to appearis wiki.
so now even when i was search wiki or amazon or ebay or anything else
all what i do , is go to firefox and on the top right corner i input what i wanna search for followed by wiki , amazon , ebay .. etc
so still google fits all. and the nearest thing to perfection in all software and services quality is google, starting from this search engine, to their mail service, or their video service (google video, and now youtube), or their online office tools.
so still, no matter what service google provides everbody trust.
one more thing (steve jobs way lol)
soon Gphone :P the open source.
God bless all mighty google.

it could be worse - you could be FORCED to use Chinese government censored search engine -- Baidu -- and their version of Wikipedia; "Baike". China blocks all other search engines.
I personally found I cannot live without Google and Wikipedia. And no matter what I search for, I very rarely have to go more than three links deep to find it. Sure - advertisements have their presence on Google, but their non-obtrusive and are often OBVIOUS, if you're familiar with the internet at all, so you have the choice not to click on them.
