Website search engine

Specs: Windows 98, ?
I have a website search engine that stores all the data for the search engine in the same page as the home page (

Heres how:

      $src = array();
      $src['0'] = 'src';
      $src['1'] = 'search';
      $src['2'] = 'monkeys';
      if ($_GET['q']==$src['0'] | $_GET['q']==$src['1']) {
           // output for search
      } elseif ($_GET['q']==$src['2']) {
           // output for search

Now, I'm pretty sure that there is an easier way to program a custom search engine, but I don't know what. Also, I would also like it if someone could tell me how to use mySQL, 'cause I don't know how.

Wow, this forum sucks any more.

What's with these guys and the 'HEY BUDDY!' thing - they're not even linking to their spam site...

To answer your question -

Normally you'd store all your pages in a database table in mysql, then setup the body column (that contains the content to be searched) as a FULLTEXT column. After, you can query against it like:
SELECT body FROM pages WHERE MATCH(body) AGAINST ('search terms')

There's some way to get a page rank too...I don't remember how though, see

The easier way though, is to just integrate w/ the google search API to bring back google search results for your site & theme it with some CSS.

It's pretty easy, just go sign up for a google search api key, and they'll give you example code to copy & paste. See
