Ok here is one for all the helpers out there. I want to set up a web site that people can pay a small fee to use via credit card. However, i would like to be able to issue a password after they have made the payment, that will expire when it has ran out- say 30 days or 5 ??. Do i need to get some special program or hire/pay some security program maker for this sort of website stuff. Hope this is enough Cheers.- This is my first web site so im still learning all this crazy funk.

hello

Short answer: if this is your first site then you really need to enlist the help of someone with experience. Depending on what your site will provide many of the tools may or may not already be available. If what you need is not already available, something that is can probably be tweaked to fit your needs. But, unless you are already comfortable with a scripting language and database access, and you have a knowledge of security issues to address, then this would be a bad first project - especially if you are creating a site where people will be paying via credit card.

well the easyest way and bear in mind this is the most easyest way which doesnt need very much work.
first you need to find i web domain and a host.
i would sign up with paypal too. they do the credit card transactions secure and doesnt have to put on webserver.
make a sign up page in the main dir on the server with a link to pay pal and they take all the address details aswell so no need in making forms either. make the website you want inside a seperate part of the server. then use HT access from your control panel to set a password. you can change the password and email the people who require the password.
this would be the most simplest way to do it.
hope it has been alot of help.
p.s. if you need some server space cheap just ask i have my own server.
