Specs: Server 2003
Hi I hope someone can point me in the right direction:

In our office we are running a PHP + Mysql system which runs over the internal domain.

It is an insurance issuing system handling renewals, new business certificates etc etc

We are building a website where our clients can renew their policies online and want to let php scripts on the webserver connect to the database running on our in house server server.

We dont want to put the internal system on to the website though.

Do you know how this can be achieved?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, If you don't want data from the external website to plug-in directly to your internal system database, I would consider creating a separate database image for the external website on a separate server from the internal server that would synchronize data on a real-time basis for record lookups, updates, and similar functions for renewals and other customer activities. The advantage of this approach is that you achieve the separation of the external website information from the internal database system. The downside is that you could have more than one database to maintain for a single client record if they renewed through the website.
