Hi,
realy need help.
im a new one to webpages, but i have made a page with MS frontpage- which looks prety good.
The problem...
i had to re upload the files (by FTP) to the site and it hadnt uploaded what i wanted. so what i did was change the main folder (called "html") to html1 and then uploaded the origional with the modifications. now that there is two folders up there i cant remove the other one. it says
"an error occured deleting the file or folder on the FTP server. Make sue you have permission to access this folder.
details:
550 can't remove directory:directory not empty"

i have tied re-loging on and doing it but stil happens. i have also tried deleting the contents first but then i get the same message for some of the sub folders.

pls could i have help with this, its driving me nuts.

thanks heaps in advance.

We've had this before. Since you are using FTP, there should be an option if you right click the offending folder, to "Recurse Delete" or similar wording. This will delete the folder with its entire contents, just as the Deltree command does with MSDOS.

Just a thought... in your ftp client do you have it set to display contents as LIST -a? That displays any hidden files, such as an htaccess file tucked away in that folder. Without hidden files showing you might be missing something because you cannot see it.
