is the address, www.(abc).com, can get it for free? I found alot of students and people does not really pay for the hosting site, can i get one for free, like www.thisismysite.com?

Jamie is correct. You can find free web hosting but you have to pay for the domain name.
But, you'll probably pay too much if you pay your web hosting service to get the domain name for you. For typical .com, .net, .org domains, you can get them at www.godaddy.com for $8.95 a year. If you pay the web hosting service to do it, you'll pay $15 - $35 per year for the exact same thing.
The only reason to pay the extra bucks to let the web hosting service to do it is if you really just do not want to mess with learning how to do it yourself. It's not very hard so if you're going to buy more than one domain name in your life, it's worth learning to do it yourself. The only thing that I don't like about godaddy is they try to sell you everything but the kitchen sink as you are buying the domain name. Typically, you don't need any of the extras.

.com domains are not free.
So i don't think any one will give u a .com domain free.
For a limited time, you can get www.YourName.info domains free from http://mydomain.com/

yahoo.com offers VERY cheap domain registration.

The above posts are correct, no domain names are usually free, there might be some excpetions such as geographic domain names.
I have registered a few, and the cheepest, best place that I have found has been godaddy.com. They provide great forwarding, masking, hosting, and email solutions as well as great customer care.
check them out
