I have set up a small website and it has a counter on it to keep a tally of the amount of visitors it has. My problem is that i have put the counter on one page and every time the page is viewed the counter goes up (i mean the same person could view the same page 10 times by looking through the site and the count will go up by ten). How do i make the counter go up ONLY by one each time the website is viewed ?

What counter are you using? Is it a script you wrote, or some free counter service?

You need a counter that tallies unique IP's and not pageloads. There are plenty of free ones on the internet if you just Google "unique" and "counter"
