Google will pick up your site quickly enough, but it won't count your meta tags as part of the ranking. Many other engines discount them too, as too many cheated in the past with tags bloated with garbage to hike their score. Concentrate on quality content, and make sure your content genuinely fits the category you want it listed in. Also do not be tempted to use text the same colour as your background as infill behind the content, just to make keywords appear a million times. That is another trick the engines hate, so they are not only set to discard such a cheat, but many will actually ignore such a site altogether, so you won't even make the list.
