All the programmers in my shop come from a C++ background. I was put in charge of developing a web site. I learned HTML and Javascript, as well as dev tools such as DreamWeaver. I'm able to design decent looking forms and documents, and write some fairly complex javascripts.

I understand using Dreamweaver to display XML data from a database, and how to get databases to create these XML files for display using the Spry tools.

The piece I'm missing, though, is how do I get information back *into* the database when the user modifies it, or enters a new record. Spry doesn't seem to offer anything like this and I'm not really sure how to proceed.

Can anyone recommend any resources or next steps? Thanks.

Well depending on the database you are using you should be able to use PHP or ASP (both server side code) to do the database stuff.
