Can anyone recommend any standalone software for monitoring site traffic ? I'm aware that companies like Google provide analytic services, but I need software that I can install on my web server and monitor myself. Due to the nature of our business we do not want to have any external company involved once the software has been purchased.

I've been searching around but so far all the results seem to require adding code to each page and then allowing a 3rd party to monitor the traffic and clicks etc.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you look at Awstats. It's free and it analyzes the log file http://awstats.sourceforge.net/
