Hi, quick question because I'm getting confused. I wan't to set up a domain name for personal use. I wan't it to redirect mail to my gmail and in the future for my website.

The question is, i want the mail redirect to and from my Gmail account. Which company do I speak to about that once the domain name is registered? (assuming I don't have any mail services or anything already set up by the registrar.) and which is the cheapest method?

P.S. I'm in the UK and would prefer a ".co.uk" or similar, but .com or otherwise would also be fine.

1. Well your first step would be registering/purchasing the domain name you want (ex. something.co.uk)
2. Then if you making a website for your business then you would purchase Web hosting space which comes with email functionality.
3. Set your domain to point to your web hosting space
4. Make your email accounts
5. Set a forwarder in your email accounts to your gmail account.

If you need help send me a message. I do this for a living.

Thank you.

Basically, I do not intend to set up a website at present because when I do I intend to host it myself.

For the time being I simply want to purchase the domain and use it for email.

I believe Google provide this mail forwarding service to its gmail users but upon following several links from the relevent page I couldn't find the relevent information.

Also, I believe from what i have read that it is not possible to purchase a domain indefinately, is this correct?

Please let me know where I can find your email address so I can ask further assistance, thank you.
