I am wondering whether I can make a browser on my own with some graphical and functional customizations. I need a outfit with company logo, maybe some additional buttons with hardcoded links and when launches, it should go to a certain homepage that the user should not be able to change.
I'm not used to programming and a friend of mine said I had to spend thousands of dollars to let someone program this. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The easiest and cheapest customisable browser is Opera.
You can skin it with different graphics, splash image when it loads, favourite files, buttons etc.
You can make installation CDs and distribute. To customise it you have to go to Opera Composer

Why do you think that is? Someone invests a lot of time into study and experience to become a programmer in a certain language. If you want to build and program a browser yourself, you'll also have to invest a certain amount of time. Since you are not used to programming at all, you'll probably have to invest ALOT of time.

Mediachance.com offers a cheap multimedia authoring program called Multimedia Builder.
Cost: $60.You can create a customized browser, MP3 player, interactive CD-ROMs, etc. I have created a customized browser for my clients
at work and I have NO expreriance with
programming.Check it out at www.mediachance.com. There graphics program REAL-DRAW pro is pretty good to. Works perfect with Multimedia Builder.
