Hi folks,
To add RSS news to webpage whether it needs a RSS generator running on the server? What additional software are also required?

Depends on what you want to do. If you just have a site that you want to display some news on from another site, take the RSS feed and go to a free site like webrss.com and sign up, create a widget by copy and pasting the rss.xml URL in the correct area, play with the CSS and then just take the 2 lines of either javascript of php (whichever you choose) and paste it into you website. Thats the easiest way.
If you want to host it from within your webpage then you need to find some free feed software. I use rss_get.php. This is free to use and you can google it or get it from the authors site www.aarondunlap.com. Hope this helps
