Secure sites?

not sure this is the correct forum but...
basically when i use internet explorer, version 6 at the moment. i cannot access certain 'secure' sites, in particular. the hotmail and aol websites to pick up my email.
i get an error message telling me to check my internet setting. ive re-installed IE6 a couple of times and no joy.

Before doing that, check Privacy to make sure you are accepting primary cookies. Also look in the Security Options at the bottom of the Advanced tab, and check everything you see there (except User Profile, which is a seucrity threat). Thirdly, are you using a proxy control, firewall or other software like Pest Patrol? Check the settings for that, make sure it isn't blocking primary cookies or http headers.
