Reply: (edit)ASP is a server-side technology. You need to have the pages processed by a web server. You can set up a server on your machine that is capable of processing ASP pages. If you have Win XP Pro you just need to instal and setup IIS. Look for a tutorial for help on that. Michael J

Reply: (edit)It's not just a matter of installing IIS. You then need to run IIS and set up a "website" and put the files in the appropriate directory. You then need to access the files as if you were browsing to a website such as http://localhost/file.asp You can't just double-click the files to see the output. The files need to be processed by the webserver. That is why I suggested you follow a tutorial. There is too much to cover than would be appropriate in a forum post. Michael J

Reply: (edit)Success is the final Destiny. "Than X" Michale J, only b'coz of u'r help. Finally i am able to see the output of the .asp files. complete procedure: I installed ISS from window Cd and it created a folder inetpub in c: Under this folder there are different folders for different files e.g. cgi scripts, graphics, Root files. To execute the ASP files , i have to put those files in the WWW_root folder and in any browser just type the following http://localhost/filename.asp localhost can be replaced by the name of u'r computer.
