I am running IIS 5.0 on windows 2000 server at home, the web server is hosting a web for public, somehow viewer can see my header imformation like this: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 ....

Is there anyway I can remove the above information for security purpose? please advise...

To turn off the IIS Header, you need to edit the registry:

Set HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters\DisableServerHeader registry key to 1.
