Comment: I host my own web site. If I make a change to a page, update a photo or soemthing, and I revisit the page with my Firefox Browser, I will see the update only if I refresh the page. What do I need to configure in IIS6 to have the page automatically update in a users browser showing the new material?

Reply: (edit)There is no setting - what you are experiencing has nothing to do with the web server. Your browser has the pages (images, etc.) cached for the particular web address. To speed browsing the browser does not request cached documents from the server - the server doesn't even know that your browser is looking at the page in some instances. The browser makes a determination on wether it will look for new material based upon it's settings. In IE there are 4 diddierent settings: Never, Every Visit, When IE starts, and every visit to the page. I can't find the similar settings within Firefox though. ou can also try adding one or more meta tags to the head of your pages which control how they are cached. This page gives an explanation of the different ones you can use: http://grizzlyweb.com/webmaster/html/metatags.asp Michael J
