Redirect in .htaccess

Specs: Windows 7
Say I have a page at /abc.php. How (using my .htaccess file) could I make it automatically redirect to /abc (a file, not a directory, and /abc doesn't exist)?

fixed it. I had to use this code:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.php -f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php

Aer you sure it handles query strings efficiently?

If not, google query string handling in .htaccess. Or else check this.
