Hey Guys,
I have a question for you:
If I have a server that has 3MBPS upload, and if there were 200 people that were trying to connect to my server at once, how long would it take them? How can I figure this out?

To make this easier, lets use some nice numbers

lets say your speed is 500

if 1 person is connecting, they can get a speed of 500

if 2 people are connecting, they speed is shared and they both get 250

if 5 people, 100

and so on

no matter what, 500 can omly pass though your connection in 1 second.

another point to add though, some people have different connections, dial up, cable etc

so lets say persons

A = dial up (5kbps)
B = cable (250kbps)

if they both connect to your site for 1 second then

person A would have download 5KB of data
and
person B would have download 250KB

in that second, 255KB would have past through your connection
