Comment: I want to put my yahoo status on my website, so visitors will know if I am online. I have found this code. However it is in PHP. My web server only supports CGI and HTML, so can anyone offer an alternative method? Thanks for any assitance you can provide.

Reply: (edit)Ian- Pretty uncommon for a host to allow CGI but not PHP...I would check on that. Anyhow, to answer your question, you don't need PHP or CGI to do it. Yahoo gives the HTML to do it on their Add web presence page. Good luck, -SN

Reply: (edit)I found the HTML code buried on www.yahoo.com. If you want the simple HTML code, just log into your yahoo account, then go to edit your profiles, you have to uncheck the box which disables status indication. Then it will supply some HTML for a small, medium, or large icon. Using this will also allow yahoo users to click the icon to msg you. Only two lines of code! Hey SN, thanks for the advice, I will check on my web server, I am hosting on my home PC, so I dont offer any tech support, but I do remember that the server I installed (freeware app) said it supported CGI, I just assumed it doesnt do perl because I dont see a perl bin, only a cgi-bin. It may actually allow PHP, I dont know, I will check on that though.
