Hi!
i have installed some software that allows me to let me remotly access my computer but i was wandering if there was any software available so i can turn my computer on at certain times so i don't have to have the computer on the whole trime i am away. I hope to use the program so i can set it to turn on my computer at certain times so i can then remotly access it at these times. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, i have tried a google search with no success.

You could check in your system BIOS to see if there is an option to start the computer at a certain time. But, it would only be one time every day.
A better option would be to use Wake-On-Lan (WOL)which allows you to remotely start your computer. However, there might be some technical difficulties with that.
WOL allows you to send a "magic packet" to your computer via the network. To do this it must be supported by your mohterboard and enabled int he bIOS and it must be supported by the network card you are using.
You would then need to have to make sure you can send the packet to your computer. If you are on a router, you would have to forward the necessary port - I don't know what it is. If you are not on a router you *may* be OK without any changes.
Lastly, you would need a utility to run on the computer you are using to send the magic packet. There are a few free ones available. I'd suggest one that does not require an install and you could simply put it on a USB key and run it from there.
