Ports in use

Specs: Windows Vista
I want to install the apache 2.2 service to window vista. But alert message prompted that the ports 80 or 443 (SSL) already in use! So can I choose another port? How to do this?

Hi, have you tried the "Listen" function?

Listen port#

So to assign Apache's listening port to 8080:

Listen 8080

Then test the installation by going to: http://localhost:8080/

The solution indicated by radix is the correct one. Port 8080 is the local port. The remote port still remains port 80. To make it work you will have to forward port 80 to port 8080. You do that in the same place that your forward the IP address.

This assumes you are behind a router. If you are connected directly to the Internet it wont work.
