Can someone steer me to a good web host. I dont need anything too fancy. I do need something with php/mysql, plenty of hard disk space (maybe 20-40g), good bandwidth, and very stable. SSH access is a plus. I might also write some Java-servlets eventually so that support would be good. I see many hosts for only 6-10$ a month but is a host going to be reliable at that price? What hosts do you guys use?

20-40 gigs of disk space for $6-10 per month? I wouldn't trust any host offering that much space for so little money.
Personally, I have my own dedicated server. I don't fool around.
However, webhostingtalk.com is a great place to look for web hosts.

i have used www.1and1.com for about a year now. I haven't had any problems with them. Tech support is good.
Can't beat the price compared to the features offered prices start at under $3.00 a month. they have linux and MS hosting. I use a package that has 100GB space 1000GB traffic, 2000 email boxes. for $9.99 per month. I will probly only use that much space if I started resaling it, but I needed the SQL database.
MYSQL and at least 1 domain name is included on all of the linux options.
