Please look at the following two pages and please give your advice.

http://home.earthlink.net/~luthazar...Both "seem" to work, but being fairly new to this javascript action, I'm not sure if this is the most streamlined approach. What I'd like to do is:
have the sound file play in the same window each time, rather than launching a new window. What I don't like is alot of windows open on the screen to close later. What would be sweet is that after the sound file plays, the window closes itself! Also, it would be nice to open the sound file window somewhere else on the screen, like in the lower right corner. And I'm not sure why, but my I.E. browser and my Firefox browser don't seem to be respecting the window's "features".
(you can specify which features you don't want by setting those features equal to no. For example:

window.open("some_url","window_name",
"location=no,status=no");

like i sed, i'm new at this, so don't laugh directly in my face, but any constructive criticism is appreciated.

In both IE and Firefox, the windows close themselves while/after the sound file plays.
Not sure why they are staying open for you.

In my browser the windows is only for a split second, then WMP opens to play the file. I must then manually close WMP.
There really is no way to control this behavior. Each user's computer will determine how the sound files are played - in the browser or in a supporting app. You could try to play the files as embedded objects in the page.
