I'm trying to install an open-source CRM client [vtiger or
sugarcrm] and I'm not entirely familiar with php or mysql.
[I understand the basics]

I do have a webserver that supports both these features,
but as for installing/setting up php/mysql to work
properly with the CRM client, I'm not sure where to begin.

If anyone has suggestions/any help at all
I would appreciate it!
Thanks

The CRM app that you have should have some setup instructions. Usually you just need to

1. Edit a PHPH configuration file included in the files where you input the connection info for the database server

2. Upload the PHP files and point your browser to one of the PHP files which will set up the database. (delete the file afterwards)

3. Go to the administration page and configure the application

Check the files and loof for a readme.txt or setup.txt (or something similar). It should contain step-by-step instructions.
