Hello, I am having a few difficulties and can't find a FREE place to try out some scripts and see how they work for php/mysql, like a topsites script or maybe even a fourm. I'm looking forward to buying a real domain and everything eventually but I want to try everything out 1st and make sure I wont have problems before I dish out money. I'm only looking for a place that will freely host me with php/mysql support ( requirments for php scripts ) so i can try out, thanks.

p.s. - i'm a total php newbie.

You don't need a host. Just run PHP and MySql on your computer. I use a dedicated Linux web server, but you can also run them on a windows box. It does not have to be a dedicated webserver.

Here is a tutorial on setting them up: http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/99/21/index2a.html
