OK, well I've created many HTML only websites, now I want to create something a little advanced like PHP/MYSQL for example.

Can anyone recommend me any help guides for this?

Currently I have xampp installed and I haven't really got the big picture of it all yet. With your help maybe I can actually achieve my little goal. thanks.

In my opinion a book is the best way to learn a new language because it is better to read than from screen, you can easily look things up when needed (and believe me, you will look things up because you know some things are possible but you cannot remember exactly how it's done) etc etc.
There are a lot of good books wich cover the basics of php and the combination with mysql.

After you have learned the basic skills, www.php.net is the best resource you can find on the net. And this forum off course ;-)

and I found those downloadable helps useful, as my crappy internet connection will slow things up a lot if I need to see references on the functions :D

note: I don't like the "extended html help" one, kind of bloated... I prefer this one:

Ah, guys. Helped me out here and I'm very thankful.

Totally agree.

Laler: I'm sure the download-docs are going to help me out plenty also, thanks!

I think that you'll find very interesting books in sitepoint.com
Look for Kevin Jank's "Build your own database driven website, 3ed" book... I think that book is the best on the internet for non-advanced webmasters... and for advanced too..
You can download the 4 first chapters 4 free, and then you'll have to buy it, it's just $39.95..
