Hi,

I am at present producing a website for one of my clients, I am not a professional website producer, but provide this as an additional service.
I am using Dreamweaver 3, my pages consist of graphics and text with photographs. Although the main image on each page is quite large (500x350 approx) they have all been optimised for web in Photoshop and come out at about 30k, in fact the whole pages are rarely above 100k.
I have a main template for logo/navigation etc and the images are then in placeholders where I want them on the page.
I have loaded the site on to my server for testing, (I clear the internet cache each time before testing) the problem is the pages are slow to load, and load somewhat eraticaly, sometimes the pages seem to hang for a period of time before finally loading (we could be talking a minute!) The page can load except for the main image (the 30k one)and then stall, sometimes for a minute or more.
I am using a BT Broadband connection.

you would need to find out the upload speed of your server

im guessing its around 15k, not very fast...

otherthings such as javascript on your webpage will also slow things down

Right on the money! I checked with my provider, they moved me to a new server.........perfect!
