non www version of my site

June 21, 2009 at 22:41:03
Specs: Windows Vista, 2 GB
I'm a bit stuck with my website:
that is working ok but when I type in IE tells me that it cannot display it.
I wanted to do a 301 redirect to improve my google ranking but I can't even find my 'non www' version on the net.
If someone can tell me what I should be doing that would be so helpful as I am totally stuck.

You should create a .htaccess fiel in the root of your web folder and incldue this in it:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !
RewriteRule ^.*$ %{REQUEST_URI} [R]

I just tried that but now I am getting for my www. site:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.37 Server at Port 80

I am getting the same 'cannot dispay the page' for the non www. site.
so I'm going to delete the file and hopefully the www version will come back!
