I have a image hosting site. On the front page, i show the top 5 most viewed images, the newest 5 images, and 5 random images. As i'm sure you can imagine, those 15 images can take a while to load. What i would like to do is make it so that they dont load unless the user clicks the heading (top 5, newest 5, random 5).

This would result in the faster loading of the homepage... which is always a plus. I have absolutely no idea where to begin because, like the title says, i'm new to JS.

Can anybody help me out, or at least point me to a site that can help me out?

have you thought of having a reduced resolution/image size for your images displayed on your home page ... it sounds like you have the full size displayed as a possible smaller size

hope this makes sense
