I have a 6 and a half minute long video that I put together and made into an mpeg file. I chose to export it as mpeg2, 'cause it was supposed to be good for DVD's. We were also gonna' recapture it back into the camera, using an .avi format, but glitches kept occurring. Stuff like stuttering, frames appearing out of order, and sound twitching kept popping up after each render. So, we gave up that fight and just kept it to an mpeg file for a DVD. I have a feeling that the glitches may have been from the large amounts of sound and background music we put in there, because I noticed that a DVD-ripped, 22 minute, Family Guy episode, also in .avi format, was only about 200 mb, where our 6 minute video was just over a gigabyte. Maybe our computer or the program couldn't handle the large movie? Anyways, now that we've converted it to mpeg2, it's about 302 mb. I was wondering if converting it to .mp4, a format which, I've been told, is used for most internet videos, will get it down to a reasonably small size. Will I also lose a lot of quality if I do that? And what are some good programs to look for to convert this kinda' stuff, so I could post my own video on the net?
