Hi all,
I've been reading on the web about META tags and it appears these are being phased out, right? Whats the best way i can set keywords for search engine searches if i'm using DreamWeaver & flash as my web development packages?
thanks guys ;-)

today we don't need to define the keywords (it won't work as expected though). Search engines will determine the keywords themselves.
We can do optimization. All good & ethical optimization concepts are listed on these pages:

META Tags are still important.
Google uses your META description in some listings.Even though they are being used and relied upon less by large search engines, smaller search engines still use them.

i would still use the meta tags as some search engines still use them ... Google uses the title and description tags so these should always be included
i would avoid using flash as it is not search engine friendly
to answer your question about keywords placement ... this is a huge area that cannot be answered in a few words eg. your keywords need to be mentioned in some 12 locations of a web page, in the right way
given that this is my business, i really can't give too much away but i will say, use my free tool at www.seo-analysis.com/online-tools to analyze 20+ on-page factors of any of your web pages
this tool will give you an idea of what to look for when preparing a web page for search engines
hope this helps
serge
