hi,
im using an old dreamweaver version (4), that was installed on old computer my friend gave me to bulid a site, .. i want the site to rezise well when we do maximize or minimize, everything in align to the center , ..i guess to do this and im not sure, is to first build a table and start the site from that (?) ... the prblem is that i already build almost the whole site and didn´t do that ( a table first) ..., i start it with layers ..and more layers.. .. so now im trying to
put everything inside a table (..again, to make things in the right place when we mazimize unmaximize a window..) , so i copy all the layers anchors to inside a table, here everything is fine.., but when i try to move the table to other position, shouldn´t all the layers (copied to inside the table) move too ??.. cus they don´t ..they stay in the same position as before, ..just the table moves .. :(now other problem: layers look diferent in firefox, using internet explorer, everything is ok, they are shown in the correct position, but with firefox they are more to the top or something..they are in diferent positions.. can this be fixed?? pls...
thanks.. hope its not hard to understant..english not my language..

If a layer is written inside another elemement it may or may not move with that element. There are certain properties that are inherited and others that are not. It also depends upon the positioning of the element: relative vs. absolute. I suggest you look up a tutorial concerning layers.
As for IE and Firefox, FF is most likely displaying it correctly and IE is not as FF adheres to standards better. IE may be displaying it as you intended, but it is not displaying the code as it should.

thanks, layers werent´t follow the table table or weren´t to the center when i resize the browser window cus they were "position;absolute" , i changed to relative and now they do what i want....
but that porblem with i.e and firefox is really annoing.. i tried to search google for this..saw a lot of people with the same problems..but cant find th esolution yet..
thanks Michael

"but that porblem with i.e and firefox is really annoing"
Yes it is. As I said, IE does not adhere tot he standards very well. BUt, IE makes up the vast majority of users out there. So, you are stuck with either writing your code incorrectly so that it looks as desired on IE or writing your code correctly and having it not appear as intended on IE.
You can usually find a way to format it to look the same on IE as other browsers, but I have found it to be a reduntant task of trial and error.
