Wondering if this is possible. Go to the template located at:

http://personalpages.bellsouth.net/b/r/brandil/template.htm View the source code of the page and where this line reads:

newImage.src="http://172.143.32.79:8888/video/pull?"+uniq; Ip address and port of one came. Open up Webcam32, Click on File, then Preferences, then tcp/ip, then Access, on looking at the current ip address section, I click on the arrow and have two other IP addresses, are these in fact the addresses of the other two cams.

The reason I ask is that they discontinued my multicam software before I could purchase same, may get it on the secondary market I hear, but in the meantime, I will get a powerful system, with a 3 gigaherz processor, and understand it will run all the cams, up to 4, on the same page which is what the software I was going to buy did.

My question, is the address of the other two cams in fact where I stated above and if so, seems like the javacript from template.htm sould work for each ip address of the came to bring them in on the same web page, just by changing each instance of the ip address of the cam before the port #:8888 AND MAYBE THE PORTS.

I am most curious as not having the programming knowledge, but willing to learn, have used javascript applets with above stated port configuration for one cam, but want to display all of them on the same screen/web page.

Any help or redirection to reading, i.e. even if it has to be from scratch in a learning process would be most appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Did you read the reply I made to your previous post?

Unless these are networked webcams that are directly connected to the network (w/o a computer), then the webcams themselves do NOT have an IP address. The computer (actually the network card) they are connected to is assigned an IP address (or it is statically set). The port number is what allows traffic to that computer to access the web cam. If you have multiple webcams, then you will need to have each of these on a different port.

The fact that the webcams apparently have different IP addresses within Webcam32 (is that the software for the webcam) is probably just an error caused by the fact that it is not expecting more than 1 webcam.

If you can't assign the other two webcams to different ports, you *mihgt* be able to install 2 more metwork cards into the computer and run two more cables. Then you might be able to assign the cameras to the new IP addesses that those NICs will receive.
