Java Applet loading broken images

Hi,
We have a web based java application called logoview which was built using JDK1.3 under AIX 4.3 in 2002. Now, we have upgraded our server AIX 5.3 and JDK1.5 and recompiled the application in 2008. This application is used to view the logo images on a product given the logo number and product details (style, color & size).
After the application rebuild, all seems to work fine except for one issue. When we try to view a logo, the image is not loaded fully in the browser's applet window. In other words, in the browser, I am seeing only a broken image of the logo. I took the web url and downloaded the image using that url. I could see that the full image is available in the server directory. It is only that the applet is not loading the full image.
Can some one provide some information in fixing this issue?.
