Internet Guest Account
Hi all, I am installing Drupal Blog on my website. I am using Windows XP SP3
During installation of Drupal blog, they say to make a folder by the name of “Files”
Right click -> Properties -> Security -> Internet Guest Account -> and check the permission for “Write” checkbox
When I do all this, there is no account named Internet Guest Account!!!
How can I create this account?

That is only applies if you are setting up drupal on a IIS server. I very much doubt that is what you are tryign to do.

i am setting permission on my XP and then will upload all these to server.
I am not sunign IIS or other localhosts or local srvers

Exactly, if you are uploading files to a web host via FTP, that step doesn't apply to you. It sounds like you might be following the wrong installation guide. Here is the guide you should be using: http://drupal.org/getting-started/5...
In a nutshell, all you have to do is download drupal. Unzip the files, upload them to your web server, then go to your website with a browser. You will be presented with a configuration script which will ask you a few questions and then set everything up for you.

ok dear
i followed the instructiuonsbut i was unable to give permission to the folder.
can any one help me how to do it

What folder are you trying to give permissions to and why? Using your FTP program, you can usually change permissions, but the method varies from program to program. Consult the website for your FTP program to find out how to change permissions. Be careful though, an incorrect setting will open up major security issues.

Dear
i am trying to install Drupal blog to my site
according to instructions
http://drupal.org/getting-started/6...
i shluld give permission to a folder.i am using Cut FTP 8
how I can give permission

Have you tried uploading the drupal files to your site and running the installer script? I just tried this and it worked fine without having to change any permissions. If you still need to change the permissions: in CuteFTP, click on the REMOTE file to highlight it, and then right-click on it. Choose "Change file attributes" from the menu.
