Specs: Windows XP
Hi Experts,

I have a weird problem, the Internet Explorer Status Spin Wheel keeps spinning on one of my website's login page even if the page is completely loaded. This is affecting our Performance testing as we cannot actually note the page load time etc. I tried the Multimedia option under tools menu but it didnt help.

Any help in this regards is greatly appreciated

Hi Rahul. In the status bar in the lower-left corner of the screen, does it say the web page is done loading, or does it still say it's waiting to load something?

The web continues to grow more dynamic and things like AJAX load even after the web page itself is loaded. Sometimes these dynamic scripts won't affect the status bar. So, you're technically still loading or performing scripts, but the web browser's loading status says it's done.

One of the biggest things to slow down a website are external scripts for things like advertising programs. Try disabling these or setting the testing system to ignore these while doing page speed tests. I performed a page speed test and the result said 15+ minutes because I use Google Adsense. Of course, the overall structure and my content on the web page loaded within 2.5 seconds, but that advert took forever for some reason and threw off the test result.

Another thing you should try is using an alternate web browser. As a web developer, you should be testing the site with multiple popular browsers.

If you'd like to provide a link, I can take a look to see if I experience it too.

Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.
