I downloaded PHP and MYSQL I got IIS in place but during the final stage of instalation, the computer tells me that a dll file php_mysql.dll have some a module malfunctioning and every efforts I have made has proved abortive

Why you wanna use IIS??
The best and easy solution is XAMPP
X - Windows / Linux A - Apache Webserver M - MySql P - PHP P - Pearl
Its very easy to install. you can get the code from http://www.apachefriends.org
Do whateve you want after that.
